Ramzan to begin tomorrow: Ramzan quotes, messages, and pictures

As the month of Ramzan is approaching, here's a look at some quotes, messages, pictures and saying about the holy month.

Ramzan is recognised as the holy month of fasting by the Muslims worldwide during the ninth month of Islamic calendar to celebrate the first revelation of the holy book Quran to prophet Muhammad.
It begins and ends with appearance of the new moon.
The word Ramzan in Arabic means extreme dryness and intolerable heat. The basic idea of fasting is to practice self restraint, a period of instrospection, communal prayer (salat), charity and reading the Quran.
As for the Islamic beliefs, god forgives the past sins of those who prays and fasts with faithful intentions. It is an act of spiritual purification of the mind and the body.
Muslims during this month fast from the time of sun rise till the sun set. Muslims refrain themselves from consuming food, liquid, smoking and intimacy with their spouses. They are bound to refrain themselves from sinful acts, such as false speech, insulting, cursing, lying, and fighting, that may negate the reward of fasting.
They take their meal before dawn and after sunset. The meal taken before the sun rise is called Suhur and the meal taken after the sunset is called Iftar.
The Iftar is arranged in a grand manner with the varieties of dishes served on the table.
Fasting is obligatory for adult Muslims, except those who are chronically ill, pregnant, breastfeeding, menstruating or diabetic.
Families and friends across the world enjoy delicacies, exchange greetings and wish each other happy life ahead.
They also share Ramzan quotes, messages and images with their family, friends and loved ones.
